An American rock band from Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Formed in 1983 by Wayne Coyne and his brother Mark Coyne, along with Michael Ivins, the band gained attention for their eclectic style and association with psychedelic culture. They recorded their self-titled album in 1985 on their own label, Lovely Sorts of Death. signed with Warner Bros. in 1990 and achieved mainstream success with their album "Transmission from the Satellite Heart" in 1993, featuring the hit song "She Don't Use Jelly." Their breakthrough came with the release of "The Soft Bulletin" in 1999, which drew comparisons to The Beach Boys' "Pet Sounds." Since then, they have released 16 albums and collaborated with various musicians. Their most recent album, "American Head," was released in 2020.
