Organized by Black Rodeo USA and hosted by The Jacksonville Free Press, the Jacksonville Invitational Black Rodeo celebrates local and national African-American rodeo competitors while honoring Juneteenth. Held at the Jacksonville Equestrian Center for one day, the event features two rodeos with bull riding, tie down roping, steer wrestling, ladies steer undecorating, ladies barrel racing, relay races, mutton bustin', and calf scramble. Known as "The Hottest Show On Dirt," the rodeo offers educational and entertaining experiences for everyone. Since its inception in 2011, the Arizona Black Rodeo has become one of the largest African-American events in Arizona, attracting over 10,000 attendees annually. Black Rodeo USA has expanded to other states in the past two years, with plans to continue spreading this cultural tradition across the country in 2024 and beyond.
