Get ready to kick off 2025 in a green way at the Palm Coast's Annual Christmas Tree Recycling Event on January 4. From 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., you can swing by the Palm Coast Fuel Depot and say goodbye to your once-glorious Christmas tree (don't worry, we won't judge your decorating skills). Just make sure it's undecorated – no one wants to see those tinsel leftovers making a comeback. Your old tree will get a second life as mulch, helping to spruce up local parks and trails. And as a little incentive, you'll walk away with a free three-gallon tree or shrub, but only while supplies last. Grab it before they're all gone.

Oh, and if you're carrying around sensitive documents from last year that you need to shred, you're in luck. The event features free document shredding, so those old checks and expired credit cards can be destroyed securely. Just remember, that pile of batteries and your defunct hard drive won't make the cut, so leave those at home. This event is all about giving holiday waste a proper send-off and embracing a fresher start to the year. So roll up, help the environment, and maybe even make a few new friends in the process.
