Get ready to dust off those sneakers because Palm Coast is throwing a bash for its 25th anniversary, and it includes the 2024 Senior Games. Running from September 13 to October 6, this event is for anyone aged 50 and up who still has a competitive spark. We're talking classic sports like golf, pickleball, and of course, the delightful Pink on Parade 5K. And for those who like to keep things interesting, expect fresh challenges like bag toss and horseshoes making their debut. The local Historical Society will also be in on the fun, perhaps to remind everyone of the good ol' days when 'jogging' meant outrunning a saber-toothed tiger.

Competitors will be grouped into five-year age brackets because nobody wants to wrestle against someone who's been collecting wisdom since disco was king. Medals? Yes, please! Medals will go to the top three finishers in each category, perfect for bragging rights during the next bingo night. If you play your cards right, a fifth-place finish might even lead to qualifying for the Florida State Senior Games in December—who knew a mid-pack finish could earn you a mini-vacation? Just keep in mind that each event has a $20 registration fee, but that's a small price to pay for a chance at glory and a good chuckle.
