Get ready to put some turkey in your step at the Feet to Feast 5K Run/Walk on Thanksgiving morning, where friends and families can get a bit of exercise before the big feast. No matter if you're a seasoned pro or just looking for a reason to wear stretchy pants, this timed race is a perfect excuse to kick off the holiday season with a little friendly competition. Registration has several phases: snag an early bird spot for just $30 from October 1 to November 11, or procrastinate and pay $35 until November 26. If you're really last minute, you can stroll in on the big day and fork over $40. Oh, and if you're a student trying to squeeze in fitness between classes and coffee runs, it's only $20 for you.

Aside from running or walking at a pace that's probably best described as "casual," participants can strut their stuff in a festive costume contest. Dress up as the best costumed couple or try to claim the title of Best Overall Family Costume—prizes are up for grabs, so no pressure. For those who are all about the gold, placement medals will go to the top male and female finishers, as well as the top three finishers in 14 age categories. It's a celebration with a side of competition, and let's face it, there's no better way to justify that second serving of pumpkin pie.
