Young artists can join Christy Maurer at ABAM for a five-day art camp from Monday, June 17, to Friday, June 21, where they will create art inspired by woodland animals and forest stories. The camp, suitable for children aged 5 to 10, will explore various art media, including drawing, painting, gluing, and constructing. Each day runs from 9:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., with a provided snack, and campers are required to bring a reusable water bottle and lunch. The week culminates in a Friday gallery walk-through at pick-up time. The cost is $200 per student, which includes supplies. Instructor Christy Maurer, who has been teaching children for 30 years and holds a Master's Degree in Elementary Education from the University of North Florida, employs the Reggio Emilia approach to learning through discovery. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her children, traveling, running on the beach, practicing yoga, reading, and cooking.
