If you're around Jacksonville come October, the Zoo and Gardens puts on this thing called Spooktacular, which is basically their way of turning the animal kingdom into a Halloween playground. Dress up in costume if you want, and you'll wander through trick-or-treat spots, spooky decorations that don't scare the giraffes too much, and some animal shows timed just right for the season, like maybe the monkeys plotting their own candy heist.

It's all happening on October 25th in 2025, but since zoos aren't big on surprises beyond the exhibits, swing by their website to nail down the precise schedule and any extra bucks you'll need for the spooky add-ons.
